As promised, a portion of the proceeds from each copy of IF I FALL APART is donated to fighting cancer:
November 2014: Seven years after completing active cancer treatment, I finally participated in my first Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Nov. 2nd. Generous family and friends sponsored me through $175 in donations to this worthy charity. In turn, Whiteginger Press matched their donations bringing the total to $350 to support breast cancer research!
October 2014: Whiteginger Press donated $100 to a Breast Cancer Fundraiser at A Little Bit of Everything gift shop on October 24th. Along with donations from other vendors as well as the generosity of proprietor, Val Kubota, $500 was raised and donated to the Kapiolani Women’s Fund.
June 2014: Whiteginger Press donated $200 in unrestricted funds to The Queen’s Medical Center. Many thanks to Queen’s for the excellent care I received during my diagnosis, treatment and recovery from Stage IIB breast cancer. Thanks also to Sharlene Tsuda and Laura Yamamoto for taking time from their busy day for this photo op. If you would also like to give to Queen’s, click here.
November 2013: Whiteginger Press donated $200 to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Hawaii capital campaign. Thanks to Lani Almanza and Cathy Alsop for making time to meet with me. Here is a link to their blog: http://hlhawaii.wordpress.com/
October 2013: Whiteginger Press donated $130 to the Kapiolani Medical Center Women’s Center Fund. The donation was a portion of the proceeds from the 32 books sold at the Power of Pink Fundraiser held at A Little Bit of Everything gift shop. The money was combined with other monies raised at the fundraiser and a check was presented by event co-coordinators, Valerie Kubota, Maegan Brandt, and Karen Garcia, to the Women’s Center.
